The beaches of Mykonos are among the most beautiful and best organized beaches in the Cyclades islands.

Paradise: This is the most famous beach of Mykonos, located on the southern coast of the island, between Super Paradise and Paranga. Most beach parties take place there and music is playing all day and night.

Super Paradise: This beach is smaller than Paradise but it also has plenty of bars. With an exotic beauty and crystal water, Super Paradise is among the most crowded beaches on Mykonos.

Elia: Elia is the longest beach of Mykonos. Located a bit far from Chora, its sandy coast and delicious taverns attract many visitors.

Psarou: Psarou is the most cosmopolitan beach on Mykonos. Located in close distance to Chora and organized with umbrellas, sun beds and watersports centres, this is the place where most celebrities go.

Agios Ioannis and Kapari: Among the most beautiful beaches on the island, these two coasts are located close to Mykonos Town but they are not easily accessible.

Agios Sostis and Panormos: These are two secluded beaches on the northern side of Mykonos. They are unorganized at all and only one tavern can be found there. Great places to relax, away from big crowds.

Kalafatis: This is a well organized beach with umbrellas, sun beds and watersports centres. Scuba diving is very popular there.

Lia: This is a lovely pebbled beach particularly popular among the gay crowd that comes to Mykonos.

Mykonos in summer is the busiest nightlife spot in Greece. Counting by far the best restaurants, cafeterias and bars among the Greek islands, Mykonos is highly appreciated for its vivid nightlife.

The best place to start your evening is Chora. Strolling around the narrow paths, you will find plenty of cafeterias and restaurants that suit you best. Apart from traditional Greek restaurants, choose among ethnic tastes, like French, Italian,

After dinner, move on to the bars and clubs, which play loud music and stay open till the early hours.

Church of Virgin Mary Paraportiani: Situated in the centre of Chora, this is the most photographed church on the island. It is actually a cluster of four smaller churches, all white in colour.

Monastery of Virgin Mary Tourliani: Located in Ano Mera, this monastery was constructed in 1850 and it is dedicated to the protector of the island.

Archaeological Museum: The museum was established in 1902 and it houses findings from excavations on the island and in smaller islands around Mykonos.

Folklore Museum: Situated in the premises of the Venetian Castle, this museum was established in 1958 and it displays a rich collection of folklore items that depict daily life in Mykonos from the 18th till the mid 20th century.

Mykonos is easily reachable by both air and sea. The two Greek airline companies, Aegean Airlines and Olympic Air, fly three times a day from Athens to Mykonos in summer. There are also many international charter flights in summer. The famous air company EasyJet has recently added Mykonos in their route map. Also a small Grek airline, Sky Express, daily connects Mykonos to Santorini and Crete in high season.

Access to Mykonos is also easy by sea. HighSpeed ferry is the fastest boat to Mykonos from Piraeus, the port of Athens, as the trip takes only 3 hours. There are many other ferries that connect Mykonos to Piraeus, Rafina (the second largest port of Athens) and other islands.
